The Wolff New Venture Competition highlights the most promising startups emerging from UConn each year. Heading into its tenth year, the competition has awarded over $335,000 in funding to startups since its inception in 2016. This critical funding often arrives during the “valley of death” phase, when startups need capital the most to scale and succeed.
Each year, the top five ventures are selected from the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation’s Summer Fellowship Accelerator. These startups are chosen based on their market viability and the potential value they can bring to their industries. The selected startups then compete in the Wolff New Venture Competition, where a panel of judges awards the $30,000 Wolff Prize to the most promising venture. Read more about this competition.
The Wolff Prize is made possible through the generosity of the Wolff Family, who has had a long tradition of business success, personal philanthropy and investing in the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. The family has also been large supporters of UConn athletics and its school of business for many years. CRN202709-7744379
